Solicitor, Ian MasonIan Mason is the principal solicitor of Advantage Employment Law with responsibility for the firm's overall direction and financial performance. He is the first port of call for businesses requiring employment law advice.

Ian read law at Oxford University, graduating from St Peter's College with a Master of Arts degree in 1974. He qualified as a solicitor in 1977 and completed his training with a leading Birmingham solicitors firm, where he became a Partner in 1987.

Ian has extensive experience in drafting legal documents including employment contracts and other commercial agreements. He also represents businesses in defending employment related claims, providing clear and practical advice on strategy and preparation.

In addition to his legal practice, Ian is a non-executive director of a local retail business, chairman of a small voluntary housing association and a managing trustee of an independent trust responsible for numerous properties. His enormous practical experience of business enables him to put legal advice to companies squarely in the context of the environment in which they operate.

 
 

Solicitor, Andrew CrispAndrew Crisp is a solicitor at Advantage Employment Law, having qualified in 1999. Andrew is the first port of call for all individuals requiring advice on any aspect of employment law. He also writes articles about current employment issues in our quarterly newsletter.

Andrew graduated in law from Exeter University in 1995. After attending Exeter Law School , where he obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice, he trained with a firm in Birmingham . He qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and went on to specialise in Employment Law and Litigation.

Andrew joined Mason Bullock Solicitors in 2002. In 2005, he pioneered the development of Advantage Employment Law to reflect the growing need for specialist employment advice. Andrew became a partner in March 2006.

His areas of expertise include:-

  • Employment Disputes - both bringing and defending claims for unfair dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination etc.
  • Drafting Employment Contracts and Compromise Agreements
  • General Litigation - employment contract disputes including claims relating to restrictive covenants and termination provisions
